Health & Safety Policy
BOOKING CHANGES
No more same day appointments or walk-ins.
No one will be allowed through the shop door unless it is for an appointment. All inquiries about booking, art, and pricing should be made by phone, text, or email. Portfolio samples will be made available digitally upon request.
All appointments will be booked a minimum of 2 weeks out in order for clients to self-screen their health and travel plans.
If you become sick with symptoms of ANY illness during your 2-week buffer period you will be required to notify the shop as soon as you are able. Depending on the symptoms and illness you may be required to reschedule your appointment another 2-weeks out from the date of notification. This will be evaluated on a case by case basis, and in some cases we may require documentation provided by your healthcare provider.
If you fall ill on the day of your appointment and are not able to reschedule with at least 24-hour advance notice, you will not forfeit your deposit. We would rather have you err on the side of caution without having to worry about losing your deposit. You are still required to call, text, or email before your appointment, in order to retain your deposit.
If you have recently traveled out of state, or have traveled anywhere by plane, long distance bus, or cruise ship, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment at least 2-weeks out from the date of your return.
If you have recently come into close contact with someone who has traveled from out of state, or long distance by bus or cruise ship, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment for at least 2-weeks from said contact.
If you have recently attended a gathering of over 50 people, or where people have traveled from out of state you will be asked to reschedule your appointment for at least 2-weeks from said event.
If you think you may have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you will be required to self-report this fact and reschedule your appointment for another 2-weeks out.
While smaller back-to-back appointments can still be accommodated, larger group appointments will no longer be offered. These will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
PRICING
Due to the increased cost associated with new PPE and sanitizing standards, all future appointments will be subject to a $15 Health & Sterilization Fee, per session. The alternative is raising our hourly rates across the board, and we’re doing everything in our power to prevent that.
APPOINTMENT DAY
Guests and children are no longer permitted in the studio. The only exceptions are for minors with appointments who are required to have the presence of their parent or guardian as mandated by the State of Michigan, or people who live together and have appointments booked on the same day. If you are the type of person who needs someone to support you during your tattoo, we strongly recommend the use of a video call app like Zoom or Skype, and as always free Wi-Fi is provided. (Don't forget your charger!)
Masks are required in order to enter the shop. If you are unable to supply your own mask, please let us know ahead of time and one will be provided to you upon arrival. Before starting the tattoo, you will be upgraded to an FDA approved KN95 mask.
If you show up with symptoms of any illness, your appointment will be canceled and you will forfeit your deposit. Be honest and let us know early. We really don't want to do this!
We will take your temperature upon arrival to the shop, and any temperature over 100.4F will disqualify you from being tattooed that day. If you were unaware of your fever you will not be stripped of your deposit and will be able to reschedule. However, if you are found to have known of your fever and failed to disclose this information, you will forfeit your deposit and may possibly be banned from the studio.
Upon arrival you will be required to sanitize your hands and phone.
Our studio space is small, but when possible, please practice social distancing practices and try to maintain at least a 6-foot distance between yourself and anyone else in the shop.
Since our building has a shared restroom and other public spaces, you will be required to wash your hands upon re-entering the studio.
Along with our standard release form, you will be required to fill out and sign a Health and Travel assessment. Failure to accurately fill out these forms will be grounds to forfeit your deposit and be banned from future tattoos.
Please limit the personal items you bring with you to the shop. All personal items, other than your phone, will need to be kept in the designated area.
We will be using a fan in order to circulate air away from our clients. If you are the type of person who gets chilly easily, make sure to bring appropriate attire in order to stay warm.
As previously stated, back-to-back appointments for smaller groups can be accommodated, but only one appointment will be allowed in the shop at a time. Please plan accordingly.
